Coronation Street fans baffled by security guard's random appearance as Grace gives birth
Coronation Street viewers were left raising their eyebrows after a security guard somehow managed to make his way into a maternity ward as Grace Vickers went into labour. During last nights’s episode of the ITV soap, Grace was falsely accused of stealing and went into premature labour in a supermarket office after he had locked her inside. Grace was rushed to hospital and baby dad Michael and his family joined her at her side.
But as they did their best to support her, the same security guard wandered into the room. Fans were understandably confused that the security guard was able to get into the room so easily, with one tweeting: “Weatherfield General lets anyone on the wards. Last week the knicker salesman visits Peter.
This week the Freshco security guard is on the maternity ward.”

While another commented: “I am SO confused by tonight’s episode as if the security guard would come to the hospital and she would have the receipt beside her whilst in actual labour?!?!” A third wrote: “You can barely have your partner in with you during labour but on corrie the uncle and the security guard get to come in.”

Grace later managed to locate the shopping receipt and Michael’s ‘uncle’ Ronnie thrust it at the security guard and accused him of racial profiling. But Ed was left perplexed by Ronnie’s on-edge behaviour and asked him what was wrong.

Ronnie then finally admitted that he had a relationship with Aggie before Ed did and believes that Michael could be his son.
As Ed was left utterly speechless, but before he was able to react properly, Michael excitedly revealed that Grace had given birth to a baby girl.
How will Ronnie’s bombshell announcement affect the Bailey family?
