Armed police called to Grantham road after reports of 'man on the loose with a knife'

Armed police were called to a Grantham road following reports of a man on the loose with a knife. Lincolnshire Police closed Stamford Street off Springfield Road, just after 6pm on Saturday, March 20. The road was re-opened by 8pm.
A resident in the road told Lincolnshire Live that a man was ‘running around with a knife’. A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said: “We received a call at 4.38pm today (March 20) reporting youths drinking on Springfield Road, Grantham. “Upon attendance our officers spoke to the youths.
Some of the group said that they had seen a male possibly carrying a weapon.
“In the interest of public and officer safety, armed police were deployed.
A search of the area was carried out and no one carrying a weapon was located.”
